PROJECT INTERVENE

2023

Home sweet home, minus the headache.

We teamed up with the NSW Building Commission to create an animation explaining Project Intervene—a clear, structured approach helping apartment residents resolve building defects without the usual hassle.

  • Organisation: NSW Building Commission

  • Target Audience: Owners Corporations

  • Platforms: Project Intervene Website

Project Details

Living in an apartment building often means navigating a complicated maze of forms, applications, and appointments to get defects fixed, especially when funding must come from a builder or developer. This animation, created for the NSW Building Commission, clarifies how owners' corporations can resolve serious building defects through a structured and efficient process known as Project Intervene. Given the current state of housing in Australia, we believed this initiative was a highly valuable service, particularly for the most disadvantaged Australians, and jumped at the opportunity to contribute to solving this issue.

Project Overview

Style

We aimed to mirror the program's efficiency and clarity through the simplicity of the motion graphic design elements. Opting for a classic explainer style, we all agreed on the winning combination of simple line drawings and the government's branding colors. We employed simple and universal iconography to illustrate the interactions and processes. And for the final touch, we infused the characters with personality and individuality to highlight that regular, caring people are central to these efforts, all working to enhance the system.
