HYDROGEN FUNDAMENTALS

2024

Some energy just feels better when it’s greener.

We collaborated with TAFE NSW to produce a series of playful, informative animations about hydrogen energy, vividly illustrating everything from combustion risks to innovative production methods. Our clear visuals and friendly characters made complex safety concepts easy to understand, empowering learners to confidently embrace hydrogen’s potential.

Project Overview

With sustainability taking center stage, hydrogen energy is playing a pivotal role in Australia’s transition to greener energy sources. To complement an informative course designed by TAFE NSW, we developed a series of engaging animated gifs to clearly illustrate the properties, benefits, risks, and safety considerations around hydrogen.

Myths & Risks

This series includes dynamic visual explanations covering topics such as hydrogen combustion risks, illustrated by the Limiting Oxygen Index, the dangers of handling extremely cold hydrogen causing low-temperature burns, and addressing common misconceptions surrounding hydrogen safety through historical references such as the Hindenburg disaster.

Safety

Adopting a vibrant, illustrative style, we aimed to make complex concepts accessible, memorable, and enjoyable. These animations blend educational precision with playful characterisation and simple yet striking visuals, ensuring learners leave equipped, confident, and informed to safely handle and advocate for hydrogen energy.

Style

Additional animations showcase essential safety systems like hydrogen vent and flare setups, providing clear visual guidance on risk mitigation. We've also creatively visualised the diverse production methods of hydrogen, including lesser-known types like yellow, turquoise, and pink hydrogen, each vividly depicted to enhance learner comprehension and engagement.
