Project Overview
Entering the professional world after school isn't always a straightforward path, especially when you're unsure about your direction. This animation, created for TAFE NSW, follows Alex, a student feeling disconnected from traditional schooling and struggling to find purpose in their education. Facing mounting pressure, Alex retreats into the familiar comfort of gaming, reflecting a common challenge many students face today.
The AI Character
To offer support, we introduced a friendly and intuitive AI mentor, complete with a relatable, conversational approach. Through insightful and empathetic interactions, the AI encourages Alex to explore their passion for motorbikes and introduces them to an exciting vocational alternative: a certificate in light vehicle mechanics. The animation emphasizes that success and fulfillment aren't confined to conventional pathways, highlighting the transformative power of personalized mentorship and vocational training.
Style
Visually, we adopted a vibrant and contemporary animation style that resonates deeply with younger audiences. Bright digital aesthetics, relatable settings, and expressive character animations underscore Alex's internal struggles and growth, making the journey both engaging and emotionally impactful.
This project was a joy to create, and we hope it inspires students to pursue meaningful careers aligned with their true passions.
