Target Audience: People and professionals using the residential building contract
Platforms: NSW Building Commission Website
While not the most glamorous aspect of building houses, contracts are crucial tools for builders, offering protection in the event of lawsuits and disputes. This animation for the NSW Building Commission provides an overview of the Prescribed Terms and key items for discussion required for residential building contracts in NSW. Its goal is to demystify the fine print and ensure all parties are adequately protected.
We designed two characters to discuss the key parts of the contract: Roberta, an experienced contract writer, and a builder seeking assistance. Their FAQ-style conversation brings a natural, lighthearted touch to the explanations, making the complexities of the residential building contract more accessible.
Our vibrant animation features colourful scenes designed to resonate with builders and address the challenges of understanding residential building contracts. The characters are depicted as relatable and friendly, while the construction sites are shown mid-progress, with timber framing illustrating houses under construction. All to create a natural sense of a conversation on a building site, occasionally interrupted by the all knowing narrator hiding amongst the clouds.
