Introduction to Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles
Organisation: TAFE NSW
Target Audience: TAFE Learners
Platforms: TAFE NSW Learning Portal
In the evolving world of automotive technology, it’s crucial to stay up-to-date with the latest advancements, especially when it comes to ensuring safety on and off the road. This animation sits within a TAFE microskill course designed to provide the learner with the essential knowledge about fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs) and the safety features that are integral to their operation. The module was designed for anyone working in the automotive industry to learn about the fuel cell electric vehicle features and components that keep the driver, passengers, and general public safe during regular operations.
This animation focuses on the thermal pressure relief device known by short as the TPRD. These are critical devices that can release hydrogen when pressures reach dangerous levels.
For this animation we went for a technical 3D aesthetic to reflect the cutting edge technology of FCEV vehicles. This format of animation allowed us to make detailed cross sections though the key components to help the learner understand how these vital components operate. Clear linework icons are used where necessary to indicate changes in temperature, direction of gas flow, danger and quantity of hydrogen. We loved creating this animation and hope you learned the importance of there TPRD.
