Tackling the Global Crisis of Inactivity

  • Organisation: Arludo

  • Target Audience: School Children

Did you know that inactivity is one of the leading causes of mortality and non-communicable diseases in the world? This is a cause that is near and dear to our hearts and we wanted to help make a difference. We developed an animation to raise awareness of the global inactivity crisis.

Meet Anum Arooj, a scientist tackling this global problem and the narrator of our animation. Through her research on health programs to tackle inactivity at schools, she discovered that most programs are more effective for boys and less effective for girls. This discovery has inspired Anum to dedicate her research to identifying and developing strategies which can make these programs equally effective for girls and boys.

We aimed to infuse the film with a sense of optimism, mirroring the hopeful and positive outlook embodied by Anum that change is possible. Applying a vibrant colour palette, a retro outline style and cute characters, like shock pads, we brought the world of inactivity to life. Through this approach, we aspired to capture people's attention, shed light on the significance of inactivity and give them a hand to get off the couch.
